Göztepe’miz ile Sport Republic şirketi arasındaki ortaklık bugün Gürsel Aksel Stadyumu’nda gerçekleşen basın toplantısı ile kamuoyuna duyuruldu. Kulübümüzün hisselerinin %70’nin Sport Republic şirketine devredilmesi konusunda anlaşma sağlandı.

Mehmet Sepil, Rasmus Ankersen ve Henrik Kraft’ın katılımıyla gerçekleşen lansmanda, Kulübümüzün hisse devri konusunda kamuoyuna bilgilendirme yapıldı.

Basın toplantısının açılışını gerçekleştiren Mehmet Sepil, “Çok uzun zamandır bu süreci kamuoyu ile paylaşıyorduk. Bugün itibariyle Sport Republic ile Göztepe ortaklığını imzaladık. Artık Sport Republic, Göztepe’nin ortağıdır. 

Rasmus Ankersen ve Henrik Kraft ile birlikteyiz. Rasmus Ankersen kulübümüzün yeni başkanı olacak. Türkiye’deki ilk yabancı yatırımcı olmanın yanında, ilk yabancı başkan da Rasmus olacak. Henrik ise hem Sport Republic’in hem de Southampton kulübünün başkanı.

Bu süreci kısa olarak özetlemek isterim. Geçen sene eylül ayında Rasmus İstanbul’a gelmişti. Sonra beraber İzmir’e döndük. Kendisine Göztepe’nin imkanlarını gösterdik. Uzun uzun konuştuk. Henüz Sport Republic bir kulüp ile birleşmemişti. Henrik ile birlikte bir proje olarak yürütüyorlardı. Eylül ayında başlayan görüşme bugün sonuçlandı.

Bugün Göztepe için yeni bir başlangıç. Göztepe zaten kendini kanıtlamış, Türkiye’de, İzmir’de birçok taraftarı olan, kitlelerin saygısını kazanmış bir Kulüp. Şimdi biz bunu, yenilenmiş Göztepe’yi farklı bir seviyeye çıkarmayı hedefliyoruz. Biz iyi şeyler yaptık ama hep dalgaya karşı yüzdük. Şimdi Sport Republic ile birlikte yüzeceğiz. Dalgayı arkamıza alıp, hep birlikte Göztepe’yi özlediğimiz haline getireceğiz. Sabırlı bir şekilde çalışarak, bunu hak ederek başaracağız.

Bu süreçte çok fazla görüşme yaptım. Birçok yatırımcı vardı ama Rasmus ikinci gelişinde yanında Southampton’dan bir direktör ile birlikte geldi ve Torbalı’da akademimizi yapacağımız alana gitti. Bunu yapan tek yatırımcı da Rasmus oldu ve bundan çok etkilendim. Zaten o gün bu davranışlar bana Göztepe’nin geleceği ile ilgili neler yapabileceğimizin en önemli işaretini verdi.

Tabii ki yeni bir Göztepe oluşturuyoruz. Yeni bir takım oluşturuyoruz. Bundan sonra futboldan sorumlu Sport Republic olacak. Daha önce söylediğim gibi başkanımız Rasmus Ankersen olacak. Zaten son 2-3 aydır da transfer sürecinde her ne kadar anlaşma imzalamamış olsak da karşılıklı bir centilmenlik anlaşması ile yapılan transferlerin ve verilen kararların Sport Republic tarafından alınmasını sağlamıştık. Bugün bu ortaklık resmi hale gelmiş oldu.

Kendi adıma çok mutluyum. Göztepe’yi çok iyi yönetecek, futboldan anlayan ellere bıraktığımı görüyorum. Tabii burada benim işim yine bitmiyor. Onları desteklemek için elimden gelen her şeyi yapacağım. Futbolun içinde olmadan devam edeceğim ama her konuda destek olacağım. 

Çok mutluyum, çok iyi bir ortak aldık yanımıza. Değerli katkıları olacak. Göztepe’yi bizim istediğimiz, arzuladığımız, hayalini kurduğumuz günlere getirecek. Bunun için hepimiz yeni ortaklarımızı ve Göztepe’yi destekleyeceğiz. Sabırlı olacağız çünkü önümüz açık. Ben buna samimiyle inanıyorum. Sport Republic’e hoş geldin diyorum.”

Sport Republic ve Southampton kulübü başkanı Henrik Kraft, “Bu güzel sözleriniz için teşekkürler. Herkese iyi günler. Hepinizi burada görmek büyük mutluluk. Birkaç sefer bu proje için geldik ve çok güzel karşılandık. Bunun için çok teşekkürler. Göztepe’ye yatırım yaptığımız ve İzmir’e geldiğimiz için Rasmus ve ben çok heyecanlıyız. Çok uzun ve zor bir yatırım projemiz vardı. Dolayısıyla şehirde uzun vakit geçirdik. Rasmus detaylardan, futbol kısmından bahsedecek. Ben size Sport Republic’ten bahsedeyim.

Daha çok yatırım ve finans kısımlarından geliyorum. Son 20 yıldır da teknoloji, medya ve iletişim konusunda yatırımlar yaptım. Rasmus ile 5 yıl önce karşılaştık ve arkadaş olduk. Birlikte sporla ilgili yatırımlar yaptık. Birçoğu futbola odaklı yatırımlardı. Rasmus’un futbol dünyasına olan hevesi bana da geçti. Dolayısıyla 1 yıl önce Sport Republic’i kurma fikri ile geldi ve birlikte başladık. Kendine has ve yenilikçi bir yatırım şirketi kurmuş olduk. 

Benim açımdan Rasmus, en başarılı ve yenilikçi spor direktörlerinden bir tanesidir. Bu projeye katılmamı istediğinde ondan daha iyi bir partnerim olamayacağını düşündüm. Bizim projemizde üçüncü bir partnerimiz var. Dragan Solak. Buraya gelemedi ama umuyorum gelecek ve Dragan’la da karşılaşacaksınız. Dragan çok başarılı bir girişimci. 10 yıldan uzun süredir kendisini tanıyorum. Rasmus ve ben, Sport Republic’i başlattığımızda bir başka yatırımcıya ihtiyacımız oldu ve Dragan’a gittik. Kendisi de projemize yatırımcı oldu.

Sport Republic’de amacımız futbol kulüplerini geliştirmek ve sinerji yaratmak. Kulüplerin her birinin daha büyük bir grubun parçası olması için çabalıyoruz. Veri uygulama ve veri kullanma metodlarını kullanmaya çalışıyoruz. Taraftarlar için teknolojiyi de işin içine katıp daha iyi deneyimler yaratmaya çalışıyoruz Önümüzdeki yıllarda Göztepe’de de bunları göreceksiniz. Bu alanlarda da gelişmeler yapacağız. Kulüplerin birbirlerinden faydalanmaları için çabalıyoruz. Akademiden en üst lige kadar futbolculara en iyi şekilde oynamaları için uygun ortamı ve platformları sağlıyoruz. 

Bizim bakış açımızdan kulüp modelimize en uygun şekilde Göztepe’ye yatırım yaptığımız için çok mutluyuz. Umuyorum çok fazla yarar getirir ve değer katarız. Taraftarların biraz sabırlı olması lazım. Bu uzun vadeli bir yatırım. Kısa vadeli değil. Hiçbir mucizeyi söz vermiyoruz ama çok çalışacağız ve elimizdeki her türlü kaynağı kullanıp, Kulübü en iyi yere getirmek için çabalayacağız. Sport Republic Ceo’su ve başkanımız Rasmus Ankersen, “Kendi adıma burada olmaktan çok mutlu ve heyecanlıyım. İlk günden itibaren İzmir’i ziyaret etmeye başladım. Mehmet Bey ile buluştuk. Göztepe tesislerini ziyaret ettim. Gerçekten burada özel bir şey olduğunu hissettim. Böyle bir anlaşmayı yaptığımız için de çok mutluyum. Öncelikle Mehmet Bey’e teşekkür etmek istiyorum. Bizi burada ağırladı ve bizi buraya davet etti.

Göztepe bir futbol kulübü olarak, futbol kulübü içerisinde yaşanan farklı hususlara sahip. Güzel ve büyük bir şehir içerisinde bulunuyoruz. Tutkulu taraftarlara sahip. Altyapısı iyi ve çok güzel bir stadyuma sahip. Harika bir tesis ortamı var. Özellikle Sport Republic’in yatırım felsefesi içinde bulunan aradığımız potansiyele sahip. Var olan potansiyeli kullanarak başarıyı ortaya çıkarabilecek olmak bizi etkiledi. Türkiye’de 80 milyonu aşkın insan futbol ile birlikte yaşıyor. Bu sayede bizim düşüncelerimiz, metodlarımız büyük değişiklikler getirebilir. Özellikle çoğu şeyin futbol ile doğru ilerlediğini söyleyebiliriz. Başarılı bir adımın doğru yönde atılması gerekiyor. 

Buradaki potansiyeli gördük ve bu bizi heyecanlandırdı. Mehmet Bey ile bir araya gelmek ve ortak olmak gerçekten önemli. Çünkü biz Türkiye’de yaşamıyoruz, her gün burada değiliz. Güvenilir bir ortağımızın oluyor olması bizim için çok önemli. 

Bu konuda çok hırslıyız. Bu kulübü bir sonraki seviyeye çıkarmak için çalışacağız. Başarıların geleceğini düşünüyoruz. Aşama aşama ilerlemek gerek. Başarılı bir çalışma yapmamız gerek. Bu bizim felsefemiz. Kulübü geliştirmek ve Süper Lig’e taşımak istiyoruz. Bu anlamda doğru altyapıyı oluşturmak ve doğru süreci takip etmek istiyoruz. Yalnızca 1 sezon değil, ardı ardına sezonlarda başarılı olmak istiyoruz.

Çok fazla şey yapılmış durumda. Transfer penceresinden bakarsak bununla ilgili çok fazla zaman harcandı. Çünkü çok rekabetçi bir ortam var. Sezonu izlemek bize heyecan verecek.

Özet olarak burada olduğumuz oldukça heyecanlıyız. 24 saatte gerçekleşmiş bir yatırım değil. Son 18 ayda çok fazla mesai harcadık. Kulübü tanımak adına, şehri tanımak adına çeşitli ziyaretlerde bulunduk. Şimdi anlıyoruzki gerçekten çok doğru bir yerdeyiz ve çok doğru bir karar verdik. Sabırsızlıkla yaşacaklarımızı bekliyoruz.”

The partnership between Göztepe and Sport Republic was announced to the public at a press conference held today at Gürsel Aksel Stadium. An agreement was reached on the transfer of 70% of our club's shares to Sport Republic.

Mehmet Sepil, Rasmus Ankersen and Henrik Kraft attended the launch and informed the public about the share transfer of our Club.

Opening the press conference, Mehmet Sepil said, "We have been sharing this process with the public for a very long time. As of today, we have signed the partnership between Sport Republic and Göztepe. Sport Republic is now the partner of Göztepe.

We're here with Rasmus Ankersen and Henrik Kraft. Rasmus Ankersen will be the new president of our club. Besides being the first foreign investor in Turkey, Rasmus will be the first foreign president. Henrik is the president of both Sport Republic and Southampton club.

I would like to summarize this process briefly. Rasmus came to Istanbul in September last year. Then we returned to Izmir together. We showed him the facilities of Göztepe and we talked for a long time. Sport Republic had not yet merged with a club. They were running it as a project together with Henrik. The meeting that started in September was finalized today.

Today is a new beginning for Göztepe. Göztepe is already a Club that has proven itself, has many supporters in Turkey and Izmir, and has gained the respect of the masses. Now we aim to take this renewed Göztepe to a different level. We have done good things but we always swam against the wave. Now we will swim together with Sport Republic. We will take the wave behind us and together we will make Göztepe what we miss. By working patiently, we will achieve this by deserving it.

There were many investors, but on his second visit Rasmus came with a director from Southampton and went to the area in Torbalı where we were going to build our academy. Rasmus was the only investor to do this and I was very impressed by this. That day, these behaviors gave me the most important sign of what we can do for the future of Göztepe.

Of course we are building a new Göztepe. We are creating a new team. From now on, Sport Republic will be in charge of football. As I said before, our president will be Rasmus Ankersen. Even though we have not signed an agreement during the transfer process in the last 2-3 months, we have ensured that Sport Republic will take the transfers and decisions made with a mutual gentleman's agreement. Today, this partnership has become official.

I am very happy for myself. I see that I am leaving Göztepe in the hands of people who will manage Göztepe very well, who understand football. Of course, my work here does not end again. I will do everything I can to support them. I will continue without being involved in football, but I will support them in every way.

I'm very happy, we have a very good partner. He will make valuable contributions. He will bring Göztepe to the days we want, desire and dream of. For this, we will all support our new partners and Göztepe. We will be patient because the road ahead is open. I sincerely believe this. I welcome Sport Republic."

Henrik Kraft, president of Sport Republic and Southampton club, said: "Thank you for the kind words. Good day to everyone. It's a pleasure to see you all here. We have been here a couple of times for this project and we have been very well received, so thank you very much for that. Rasmus and I are very excited to invest in Göztepe and to come to Izmir. We had a very long and difficult investment project. So we spent a long time in the city. Rasmus will talk about the details, the football part. Let me tell you about Sport Republic.

I come more from the investment and finance side, and for the last 20 years I have been investing in technology, media and communications. Rasmus and I met five years ago and became friends. We made investments in sports together. Most of them focused on soccer. Rasmus' enthusiasm for the football world rubbed off on me. So 1 year ago, he came up with the idea of establishing Sport Republic and we started together. We have established a unique and innovative investment company.

For me, Rasmus is one of the most successful and innovative sports directors. When he asked me to join this project, I thought I couldn't have a better partner than him. We have a third partner in our project. Dragan Solak. He couldn't come here, but I hope he will come and you will meet Dragan too. Dragan is a very successful entrepreneur. I've known him for more than 10 years. When Rasmus and I started Sport Republic, we needed another investor and we went to Dragan and he became an investor in our project.

At Sport Republic, our aim is to develop football clubs and create synergies. We strive for each club to be part of a bigger group. We try to use data application and data utilization methods. We are trying to create better experiences for fans by incorporating technology. You will see these in Göztepe in the coming years. We will also make developments in these areas. We strive for clubs to benefit from each other. From the academy to the top league, we provide the appropriate environment and platforms for footballers to play in the best way possible.

From our point of view, we are very happy to invest in Göztepe in the most appropriate way for our club model. I hope we will bring a lot of benefits and add value. The fans need to be patient. This is a long-term investment. It is not short-term. We are not promising any miracles, but we will work hard and use every resource at our disposal to bring the Club to the best place. Sport Republic CEO and President Rasmus Ankersen said, "I am very happy and excited to be here for myself. I started to visit Izmir from the first day. I met with Mr. Mehmet. I visited Göztepe facilities. I really felt that there is something special here. I am very happy that we have made such an agreement. First of all, I would like to thank Mehmet Bey. He hosted us here and invited us here.

Last season was a tough one. We are interested in your achievements and investments. There are very good organizations here. These factors were important factors for us to participate in this project.

Göztepe, as a football club, has different aspects that happen within a football club. We are located in a beautiful and big city. It has passionate fans. It has good infrastructure and a very nice stadium. It has a great facility environment. It has the potential we are looking for, especially within Sport Republic's investment philosophy. We are impressed by the fact that we can unlock success by using the existing potential. More than 80 million people in Turkey live with football. In this way, our thoughts and methods can bring big changes. In particular, we can say that most things move in the right direction with football. A successful step needs to be taken in the right direction.

We saw the potential here and it excited us. It is really important to come together with Mr. Mehmet and become partners. Because we do not live in Turkey, we are not here every day. It is very important for us to have a reliable partner.

We are very ambitious about this. We will work to take this club to the next level. We think success will come. We need to go step by step. We need to do a successful work. This is our philosophy. We want to develop the club and take it to the Super League. In this sense, we want to create the right infrastructure and follow the right process. We want to be successful not only in one season but in consecutive seasons.

So much has been done. From a transfer perspective, a lot of time has been spent on this. Because it's a very competitive environment. We will be excited to watch the season.

In summary, we are quite excited to be here. It is not an investment realized in 24 hours. We have spent a lot of time in the last 18 months. We have made various visits to get to know the club, to get to know the city. Now we realize that we are really in the right place and we have made a very right decision.
